Kingfisher hosts “Business After Hours” event

April 30, 2015

More than 80 people gathered at one of Kununurra’s aircraft hangars on Friday night when Kingfisher Tours held its first business after hours event.

Those attending enjoyed a Kingfisher cocktail on arrival, canapes and drinks served from a bar made out of an old aircraft wing.

Kingfisher launched in 2013 and is operated by parent company Shoal Air. Shoal was established in 2004 with an initial two aircraft and now plays host to 22 planes and about 20 pilots. Founder and managing director Steve Irvine first arrived in Kununurra in 1982.

Kimberley Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Jill Williams welcomed the crowd before Mr Irvine and his partner Rosie Sandover spoke about the business’ history and plans for the future.

Business after-hours events are open to all members of the KCCI.
